Common Symptoms We Treat in Solapur

Not sure if your symptoms need a specialist? Here's what patients in Solapur most often consult Dr. Chhanchure for.

Acidity & Heartburn (GERD)

A persistent burning sensation in the chest or throat after meals can indicate acid reflux. Left untreated, it may affect the food pipe over time.

Abdominal Pain

Recurring or severe stomach pain can stem from ulcers, gallstones, IBS or other digestive causes and deserves a proper evaluation.

Jaundice (Yellowing of Eyes/Skin)

Yellowing of the skin or eyes is a sign of underlying liver or bile duct dysfunction and needs prompt medical attention.

Blood in Stool / Piles

Bleeding during bowel movements may be due to piles, fissures, or other colorectal conditions — early diagnosis matters.

Bloating & Gas Trouble

Persistent bloating, gas or a feeling of fullness can point to functional GI disorders, food intolerances or motility issues.

Constipation & Diarrhea

Ongoing changes in bowel habits can signal IBS, IBD or other digestive conditions that benefit from specialist care.

This is general health information, not a diagnosis. Please consult Dr. Chhanchure for an accurate evaluation of your symptoms.

Before Your Procedure

Common Questions About Endoscopy & Colonoscopy

Straight answers to what patients most often ask before a gastrointestinal procedure.

The procedure is not painful. The throat is numbed with a local anaesthetic spray, and sedation can be given if you prefer. Most patients are comfortable throughout and go home the same day.

A diagnostic upper GI endoscopy usually takes about 10 to 15 minutes, and a colonoscopy about 20 to 30 minutes. Allow extra time for preparation, sedation and a short recovery period before you leave.

No. Endoscopy, colonoscopy, ERCP and EUS are performed as day-care procedures. You are observed for a short while afterwards and can usually return home the same day.

An upper GI endoscopy examines the food pipe, stomach and the first part of the small intestine through the mouth. A colonoscopy examines the large intestine through the rectum. They investigate different symptoms and are sometimes advised together.

ERCP is advised when the bile duct or pancreatic duct is blocked — most often by stones, a narrowing or a tumour. It allows stones to be removed and stents to be placed to relieve jaundice, without open surgery.

You will be given a bowel-cleansing preparation to take the evening before, along with dietary instructions. The bowel must be completely clean for the examination to be accurate, so the instructions should be followed closely.
